Devils Nose in the Sleepy Creek Wildlife Management Area WV is a unique rock out cropping that overlooks Meadow Branch Creek gorge. Although the 1.1 mile hike to Devils Nose can be busy on nice days, the outcrop is more than 75 yards long and has plenty of room for you to find a quiet place to enjoy the views. Meadow Branch can run high in the spring and the new bridge now makes it an easy crossing. Hike the longer 6-mile option to Devils Nose and also get to enjoy the little-visited easterly overlooks towards North Mountain from the Tuscarora Trail on Third Hill Mountain.

I took the longer version of this hike as described. Trails in good condition and relatively smooth getting rockier closer to Devils Nose. I carried two hiking poles but never used them. A few others out on the Tuscarora Trail and at Devils Nose. A motorcycle going up and down the Devils Nose Connector Trail for a few minutes. As noted in the previous review, graffiti at Devils Nose was disappointing.

Did the longer option. Parking was no issue and easy to find. There was nothing when we got there and 1 other car when we got back.
It was foggy so didn't get to take in the first few overlooks on the beginning 1/2 mile loop (in the steps above, you'll notice that 0-0.6 is a separate loop from the hike to Devil's Nose). If it's foggy, you might want to tack that on to the end rather than the beginning. There isn't too much to see at a distance the first portion of the hike towards Devil's Nose.
Trail was in good shape and well marked pretty much the whole way. Only ran into 1 other person on the trail.
Only downside might have been the amount of graffiti at Devil's Nose.
